Arthroscopic Acromioplasty
When conservative treatment is ineffective or when maintaining athletic performance is required, arthroscopic acromioplasty is performed — a modern and minimally invasive technique.
Through three small millimeter-sized incisions, an arthroscope with a microcamera is inserted, allowing visualization of the problem. Using specialized instruments, the excess bony portion of the anterior acromion is removed and its surface is smoothed. This creates more space for the tendons, reducing pressure and friction.
The procedure lasts approximately 30 minutes and is performed under general anesthesia or with nerve block for complete analgesia. The patient may return home on the same day.
